About Caída

Caída is the Venezuelan card game, made to be played on your phone and in your browser. It’s developed by Ponlonline, which also writes and runs this site.

What’s here

On jugarcaida.com you can play for free in the browser, without installing anything: against the computer, in an online room with friends, or by finding a game with someone who’s online at the same time. On Android there’s also the app on Google Play, which also lets you play over Wi-Fi, with no internet, with anyone on the same network.

The rules, cantos, tips and glossary pages are here so anyone can learn to play, whether or not they have the game open.

Where the rules come from

The game follows the way of playing we call Traditional: the dealer’s table deal, captures, the caída, the Clean Table, the cantos and the count at the end of the deck, up to 24 points. Whatever changes from one family to another is an option when you set up a game: Caída beats canto, Tribilín wins the game and the regional cantos Registríco, Casa Chica and Casa Grande.

What these pages say is what the game does. Whenever a rule changes, the pages change too. If something doesn’t add up, or your family plays with a rule that isn’t here, write to us. The rule that a new deal breaks the caída, for example, came from what players told us.

No betting

Caída is played for points. No money is bet and there are no cash prizes. Riales, the game’s currency, are used to join games: you collect them for free every day, winning gives you back the one for that game, and they can’t be bought or exchanged for money. How Riales work.

The game is free and is supported by ads. Ads never change what happens at the table.

Your data

You can play without an account. If you sign in with Google, we keep what’s needed for your Riales, the ranking and your friends, and you can delete your account whenever you want. It’s all explained in the privacy policy and the terms of use, both in Spanish for now.

Contact

For questions, suggestions or your family’s house rules, write to us at infoponlonline@gmail.com. If something odd happened in a game, the fastest way is to report it from the game itself, under “Points” or when the game ends: the report reaches us with what happened at the table, and we answer you right there, in “My reports”.
